Refurbished sailboat becomes couple’s dream boat

The Ellsworth American features the story of how a Maine couple restored a sailboat that had been neglected for over 15 years.

Edward Bleakley and his fiancé, Tegan, found the 36-foot Erickson sailboat in a local trading paper. The couple had their work cut out for them to restore the boat. Fifteen years of water damage and dry rot had taken their toll.

Adding to the challenge of boat repairs, Bleakley and his fiancé were planning their wedding at the same time.

After much work and help from friends, the Bleakleys celebrated their wedding vows on their newly-seaworthy sailboat.
