Overseas Boat Buyers Seek Out Bargains In The United States

While boat sales are under strain due to a tight economy, a weak dollar is luring overseas boat buyers to purchase American-made boats.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports on a recent conference of Cruisers Yachts dealers from over 20 countries held in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

According to the story, around one-third of Cruiser’s sales come from overseas buyers, a big change from the 4% from a few years ago.

Carver and Marquis Yachts, two companies that make more 50-foot and larger yachts, have increased their global sales and taken some of the sting out of tough economic times.
